Our commitment

We teach disability awareness for a living, so an accessible website is part of the product, not a nice-to-have. This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA.

What we have done

  • Every text and background colour combination is contrast-checked against WCAG minimums (4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for large text and interface components).
  • The whole site works with a keyboard: a skip link on every page, visible focus indicators on light and dark backgrounds, and no keyboard traps.
  • Semantic HTML throughout — one main heading per page, labelled landmarks, real buttons and links, native disclosure elements for FAQs.
  • Forms have visible labels, clear error messages linked to their fields, and an error summary that moves focus to the problem.
  • All animation is subtle, never auto-plays, and is disabled entirely for users who prefer reduced motion.
  • Text can be zoomed to 200% and the layout reflows down to small screens without horizontal scrolling.
  • Body text is a minimum of 16px, with generous line spacing and sentence-case headings.

Known limitations

  • Our illustrations are decorative SVG artwork with descriptive alternative text; we plan to add real photography with equally careful descriptions.
  • The secure client portal is a separate application which we are improving progressively; if you use assistive technology and hit a problem there, contact us and we will complete the task for you by phone or email.
  • PDF certificates are generated documents; if you need a certificate in another format, ask us.

Training accessibility

Accessibility applies to our courses too. Tell us about access needs when booking — venue requirements, materials in other formats, extra time, or anything else — and we will make reasonable adjustments.

Tell us when something falls short

If any part of this website is hard to use with your access needs, we want to know: info@nurtrainingacademy.co.uk or 07872 018267. We aim to respond within five working days and to fix genuine barriers quickly.
