Who this course is for
Every member of staff — emergencies do not wait for the right person to be on shift. The course pays particular attention to lone workers in domiciliary care, who may be the only responder in the house.

- Primary survey (DRSABC)
- Calling 999 effectively
- CPR — practised on manikins
- Defibrillator (AED) use
- Choking response
- Assessing falls and incident reporting
Delivery, duration and assessment
A half-day practical session delivered face-to-face — every delegate practises compressions and AED steps on training manikins. Certificates with unique registration numbers are issued on completion, with attendance records for your matrix.
Compliance notes
Basic life support sits in Skills for Care's statutory and mandatory training guidance, where annual skills updates are commonly expected in addition to periodic full refreshers. We can schedule rolling update sessions so cover never lapses.
